If you believe in your heart that “it’s” possible for you, then “it” truly becomes possible for you, whatever “it” is.

My prayer for us today as we approach yet another welcomed weekend is, may we continue to be honest with the person peering back at us in the mirror. May integrity continue to be the foundation for the way we conduct business. May our mistakes be few and our excuses non-existent.  May our passion be our focus fueled by our unwavering beliefs and convictions.

May there be many moments that make us smile with authentic joy.  May our hearts deepest desire be to do for others in need.  May we have the courage and bravery of a fearless lion in the face of our greatest fears and become unstoppable in our noble and just pursuits.  Finally, may I continue to attack each day with these truths because my boys say they want to be like me.

Yes my friends, this life is definitely worthy of even more than just our best efforts.  So let’s not just make it good, let’s subdue it and make it GREAT!

Was hanging out at the beach the other day staring at the waves crashing into the shore and I suddenly felt a small wind of inspiration come over me so I grabbed my trusted old pen and pad and started writing as follows:

For those of us who’re seeking to make a positive impact on this world, it’s imperative we turn our trials into our triumphs, our mess into our message, our test into our testimony and our problems into our prophecy of a profound winning probability.  We must choose NOT to be a victim, but to be victorious, not for our own sakes, but for the sake of those who come after us so that they may see that “it” is possible.

In the face of crisis we will not cower away and retreat to that foxhole of fear and trepidation for we know that out of crisis comes “Opportunity”.  So instead, we rise, Rise and RISE again to take full advantage of our moments to shine and show that we were designed for a time such as this.  We’ve already studied in advance so that we can show ourselves approved in times like these.

Our mental surfboards have been waxed, polished and well-maintained to ride the countless waves of the unique opportunities in the days ahead.  Yes indeed we are a strange breed better known as “resilient overcomers.”  The words “no retreat, no surrender” comes to mind in troubled times for we know unequivocally that anything that’s worth-while in this life will always be realized on the other side of fear and adversity.  So we press-on toward the mark of the high call of our Creator and will not waver in our faith and belief that our goals are possible and our cause is indeed noble and just.

Our victory is inevitable simply because we have made the commitment to not stop until we WIN.  So my bold statement to life today is, “Bring it on”, for we will stay the course for yet one more day and welcome the challenge of the waves for we know between the crest and the crash of the waves exist the special “OPPORTUNITY” to be better today than we were yesterday.  So, BRING IT ON I say!!!

What words do you choose to speak today in lieu of the crashing waves around you?  I trust you will say the same.   BRING IT ON !!!   Let’s continue in our steadfast efforts to make it GREAT!

I invite you to join me today in imagining ourselves winning those mental battles we’ve lost with ourselves in the past.  Let’s develop a healthy thirst for revenge against the negative self-talk that’s gotten the best of us in the not- so-distant past.

Today we solemnly declare that our internal foe won’t be given a second chance to knock us up against the ropes of life.  Our foe won’t have another opportunity to place doubt into our heads about our capabilities and abilities to overcome and become something greater today than we were yesterday.

We understand that the toughest battles we will ever fight are the ones on the battlefields of our own minds.  We clearly realize that our “enemy” outside is secondary to our “inner-me” on the inside.  We also understand all-too-well that our inner-me knows all of our weaknesses and our strengths, so it is indeed a formidable foe.

Nevertheless, in all of our battles both internal and external, we will ultimately win because we’re not afraid to lose.  We will find because we have dared to seek.  And, we choose to live our lives in pursuit of something great and significant for the benefit and service of others today, because we know that tomorrow never comes. Yes my friends, we only have today, this infinite moment in time.

So, we choose today to pursue making our lives matter for much more than just ourselves and our loved ones in our general vicinity.  We will pursue making it GREAT for the world!  So, “PRESS-ON!” I say toward the mark of the high call that has been placed on our lives by our creator and let’s continue to not just make it good but Make it absolutely GREAT!  GREAT DAY!!!

I ’ve had the distinct privilege over the last nine years to work from home, which has afforded me the ability to invest a lot of time actively participating in my kid’s lives.  Needless to say, this has also resulted in me being around a lot of what most people call, “Stay-at-home Moms” or “Soccer Moms”, but I prefer to call them, “Home Engineers”.

Over these activity-filled years I’ve learned to never underestimate the power of a group of dedicated Soccer Moms.  Watching these Mom’s in action rallying around a worthy cause or mutual goal is nothing short of phenomenal.  They have a “Never-say-die” attitude and a Just-get-it-done” mentality.  Getting them to agree may be a challenge at times, but once you’ve got them all nodding their heads in the “Yes” direction for the cause, watch out world, because they will not be denied.  I’m convinced that we could’ve found Osama Bin Laden a lot sooner if we would’ve just assigned the task to a hand full of Soccer Mom’s.  There aren’t many things stronger than the heart of a volunteer and Soccer Moms are the crème-dele-crème.  As a result, I now have a new saying, “Need something done?  Get a Soccer Mom.”

So, if you’re a Work-from-home Mom or Soccer Mom or Stay-at-Home Engineer, please allow me to give you a big, fat “High-Five” for all that you do to make this world go round.  You’re tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed.  You’re coming early and staying late is not in vein.  Those bright eyes all around you are taking notice and are quietly thanking you for your unyielding service to them and this world.

Please take the time to breathe-in this acknowledgement, affirmation and congratulations today and know that you play the most important role of anyone in this world of ours because you are in direct contact with shaping and molding the future of this world.  That future is sitting in that car seat behind you everyday.  Keep doing that thing that you do so well and make it GREAT!

I was driving my kids to school not long ago and I noticed a couple of motorcycle cops hiding behind some bushes and I suddenly had one of my “hallelujah moments of clarity.”  As a result, I now have a new metaphorical definition of Fear:   Fear is a well disguised motorcycle cop hiding in the bushes of life waiting to pull-over and arrest unsuspecting individuals attempting to speed outside their comfort zone.  Most people may believe that FEAR stands for “Forget Everything And RUN!”  But we’re not “Most People”.  We know that FEAR is just “False Evidence Appearing Real.” Our radar detection of awareness gives us a form of diplomatic immunity.

I’ve recently started to see more and more of the popular “No Fear” brand on t-shirts and billboards around town, but I choose an alternate statement.  My statement is, “Got Fear, but doing it anyway”.  I’ve learned that fear can actually be a good thing in that it promotes preparedness and sparks adrenaline.  So we must choose to embrace this “Fear” thing.

We understand that we succeed not because we have no fear, we succeed because we continue to act in spite of our fear.  So, speed-on out of that comfort zone quickly and continue to conquer that ominous four letter word with the comfort in knowing that all the best things in this life exist on the other side of FEAR.  Let’s continue to be bold as we attempt to make it GREAT!
