The anonymous fella behind this receives no fame, no glory and definitely no recognition, but what he does receive is a feeling of joy that feels better than any drug and creates a legacy of seed-planting of giving that will keep on giving even after he’s no longer here. Now that just makes me smile.

So what are you doing to make your impact this holiday season? Please don’t answer this out loud, just make all of us proud. 😉

Enjoy……

Couldn’t sleep last night so I started to write:

It’s fair to say that on our death-bed one day
we won’t care much about our job or where we stayed,

Or what car we drove and how much money we made,
Or the famous people we met or the beds that we laid,
Or the times we were late because we were slightly delayed,
Or that class that we took in school and got a low grade,
Or that shelf full of trophies and other accolades,
Or leaving “that place” when we probably should’ve stayed,
Or when you arrived late for dinner when it was already made,
Or your first drivers-test and you were deathly afraid.

But what will matter is if you took your kids to the Christmas parade,
Or if you hung out with them often at the local video Arcade,
Or if you talked to them about God and why they were made,
And to find their purpose even if it takes all of their days,
Or if you’ve left a great legacy that makes you smile from the grave.
These things are the greatest for the lifetime you’ve paid,
And for nothing else on earth should you ever dare to trade.

I can only hope that my insomnia has once again yielded yet another vital breadcrumb that can lead you to Making it GREAT!

GREAT DAY!!!

Well, it goes without saying that it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas right about now. Yes I said “Christmas” at least that’s what I like to call it. 🙂 The twinkling lights and the short daylight, yes all of it I like.

In fact, I have to say that I love everything about the Christmas season except the fact that it’s ONLY for a season. Well, actually it doesn’t have to just be for a season if you don’t want it to be. Yes that’s right my friends, we can take those things that we like most about this season and carry them on throughout the year.

Some may like to listen to their Christmas music all year round like me and I’m sure we all know a neighbor or two that chooses to leave up their Christmas lights either because they love the look or their just too lazy to do it right. And, even still there are some who prefer to keep displaying their interior things and nativity scenes but no matter what the season may bring, be sure to keep doing the following few little things:

Keep showing Love and keep being Kind,
And keep showing Compassion to all mankind.

Keep giving the needy of your Treasures and Time,
And don’t be afraid to share my short little rhyme.

Simply put, you don’t need a catchy rhyme or reason to show love, compassion and kindness in every season. So, let’s Make it GREAT all year round!

Before this new weekday gets underway, here’s a short word of encouragement I’d like to say.

Oftentimes we may not always know the “Why” for the worst things that happen in our lives, but we can always be sure of the “Who” that’s in control. So if we really trust the “Who”, we can then rest assure that soon and very soon, He will eventually make good use of the “Why”. 😉

Keep smiling, styling and profiling this week and refuse to get caught up in the stress as you once again push to do your best and encourage the rest as we all attempt to overcome our test and may we Make it GREAT!

She said, “If you only knew the places I’ve been, the things I’ve done and the people I’ve hurt, you too would agree that I have no redeeming qualities left in this dirty life of mine.” I cracked a small smile and told her, “Forgiveness & mercy from the one that created you can reach even lower than your worst mistake if you just ask for it. But, the biggest challenge of forgiveness will come from you forgiving yourself and deciding to start over.”

This was just a snapshot of a short conversation I recently had with a complete stranger during a chance encounter not long ago. She didn’t feel like she had many days left on this earth with a life that has been all but wasted but I told her that the days left is not most important, but it’s what you do with the days left that makes the biggest difference. I saw a light bulb pop on in her eyes as she cracked a smile.

We then parted ways shortly there-after and I couldn’t stop thinking about the encounter. I truly believe that a seed was planted with her that day and the last chapter of her life is of course “To Be Continued…”

This encounter reminded me of how powerful our words are in relations to building people up or tearing them down. So before your new day gets underway, remember to watch what you say because it could make or break someone else’s day, Ok? Consider this as just another little friendly, unsolicited reminder that could definitely lead you to Make it GREAT!
