She said, “If you only knew the places I’ve been, the things I’ve done and the people I’ve hurt, you too would agree that I have no redeeming qualities left in this dirty life of mine.” I cracked a small smile and told her, “Forgiveness & mercy from the one that created you can reach even lower than your worst mistake if you just ask for it. But, the biggest challenge of forgiveness will come from you forgiving yourself and deciding to start over.”

This was just a snapshot of a short conversation I recently had with a complete stranger during a chance encounter not long ago. She didn’t feel like she had many days left on this earth with a life that has been all but wasted but I told her that the days left is not most important, but it’s what you do with the days left that makes the biggest difference. I saw a light bulb pop on in her eyes as she cracked a smile.

We then parted ways shortly there-after and I couldn’t stop thinking about the encounter. I truly believe that a seed was planted with her that day and the last chapter of her life is of course “To Be Continued…”

This encounter reminded me of how powerful our words are in relations to building people up or tearing them down. So before your new day gets underway, remember to watch what you say because it could make or break someone else’s day, Ok? Consider this as just another little friendly, unsolicited reminder that could definitely lead you to Make it GREAT!
