I was hanging out with some of my group-home boys a few days ago walking the railroad tracks. They really are easy to please when it comes to doing things adventurous. We’ve walked these tracks dozens of times before but this day I had an epiphany that caused me to stop and take this picture to capture the moment.

I remember a few years ago when I first started taking my little guys on our track-treks I would have to tell them which direction to take every time we reached a fork in the track. Even though I was prepared to tell them which paths would lead to a dead end, they never would ask me questions about the direction, they would just trust that I knew which direction to take. Years later, I’ve realized that I don’t have to tell them which way to go anymore. They know how to avoid the wrong turns and the dead ends.

While on our walk the other day I realized that the same also exist in life. I continue to make my best effort to guide them in the right direction and empower and equip them to make the right choices in my absence. Truth be told, at times there continue to be some challenges with them but I can only hope that their lessons learned and wisdom earned will keep them on the right track on their journey.

I’d like to encourage you to pick out one or two or even a few little ones in the days ahead so we can increase the chances that they will choose to Make this “good” life, GREAT!

GREAT WEEK!!!
