Bobby McFerrin’s 1988 hit song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” was the song of the year and created a viral feeling of being footloose and fancy free in a time of turmoil and uncertainty. This was definitely needed at the time for a country that was going through a real estate market crisis. Flashing back to that era has caused me to give some deep thought about the “Worry” thing, and you know what happens when I start to thinking deep thoughts, LOL…

So please lend me your ear so I can make myself clear:

After thinking this through it’s become apparent to me that a life void of worry is a life void of love, for to “worry” is to be a human in love. Yes that’s right my friends, worrying is specifically for those human beings who love someone or something and are afraid of it being lost or harmed. Realizing and recognizing this truth has compelled me to no longer attempt to caution people about NOT worrying. My new approach has been to encourage people not to “worry” for long.

Yes my friends it seems that our natural tendency as humans is to worry and be concerned about the safety and wellbeing of those people and things we love and care about. So, my unsolicited advice is to don’t resist the innate urge to “worry”. Just make sure you don’t “worry” for long before you put it aside and carry on. An even better notion may be to put that “worry” thing into the hands of the one who created you and me and that can set your mind FREE! It works for me.

So, go ahead and “worry” for a bit, but then get rid of it. I wonder if Mr. Bobby McFerrin can make a song out of this one and maybe call it, “Worry A Bit, Then Get Rid of It”. Hmmm… Not a bad idea I think. LOL
wink emoticon

In the meantime, let’s keep leaning forward this week as we toss our “worry” aside and Make it GREAT!

Boxes were created for boxing up gifts and things NOT thoughts and dreams. So, don’t be afraid to think outside of them and go out on a limb if you have to. After all, that’s where all the fruit is at anyway.

Now, let’s take this Thankful Thoughtful Thursday and start thinking outside of that “box” thing and Make it absolutely GREAT!!!

GREAT DAY!!!

Don’t let the tough times rape you and break you but shape you, make you and recreate you into that which you need to be so you can see the success you desire to see as the new version of your new “me”.

That’s right my friends tough times have a job to do and that job is to make you stronger so you can last longer. The best version of you exist on the other side of the struggle no doubt, so shed that frown and buckle down and stick around long enough for you to emerge on the other side with a renewed sense of pride so don’t run and hide.

Down through the years tough times have been known to produce some of the best stories of overcoming and becoming something special time-and-time again, so make a point to master your tough moments and make them memorable as you attempt to Make it GREAT!!!

GREAT DAY!!!

It appears that many of us parents that play an active, meaningful role in our kid’s lives are becoming more and more of an endangered species now-a-days. The risk of becoming extinct is imminent and inevitable if many of us don’t wake up soon and smell the coffee of neglect that’s brewing right under our noses.

This is no doubt due to the overreaching commitment and boundless loyalty and desire by many parents to succeed in the work place at whatever the cost. But, I say that the cost is indeed too high of a price to pay.

Simply put… Chasing the all-mighty $ (dollar) just doesn’t make good ₵ (cents/sense) when it’s at our kids expense.

So, I invite you to consider investing that overtime into giving those kids some time to strengthen their positive mind. Don’t put-off those vacation days and sock them away but use them for your kids at play. Call in sick a time or two when you’re sick-and-tired and go hang out with your little crew for that work will always be there waiting for you.

No matter what you do, when your crew is missing you, take a day or two to help them get through. Don’t get those priorities mixed up because success on any job can never ever make up for failure and neglect in the home.

Chew on this breadcrumb of wisdom this week and remember that it’s never too late to make some changes and start Making it GREAT!!!

GREAT WEEK!!!

Oh… And of course it’s always Ok to share if you dare… 😉
