There’s been a murder committed and the killer is still at-large.  As a result, it’s with a heavy heart I advise you that the Cedric Crawford you used to know years ago is no longer with us.  It may sound a bit harsh and shocking to most, but he was murdered and killed-off by the new and improved version of Cedric R. Crawford that you now know and see today.  As a result, he no longer acts the same, thinks the same, walks the same and he definitely doesn’t talk the same.  He’s undergone a radical make-over of the mind and reconstructive surgery of his goals and dreams and purpose in this thing called “life”.   This new and improved version of Cedric is determined to heed to his calling and purpose in this life.   His mission is to wake others up to their potential and expose them to the countless possibilities if they’re willing to use their God-given abilities and gifts and stories to serve and create value for others.

In all my years on this planet I’ve yet to see someone receive an award for what they’ve “received” in this life.  It’s always an award for what they’ve “given.”  So the question today is, “What are you prepared to give?”  What gifts are you using to serve or create value for others?  Is it time for you to reinvent and redefine yourself.  Give it some serious thought and do what you feel is necessary.  Even if it means murder.

Yes I’ve shared this thought before, but I feel like it bears repeating to call someone to a necessary action today.  So, start your process today whoever you are and be sure to make it GREAT!

I  would be two kinds of crazy and three kinds of foolish to let this day slip away without something to say about its’ infamous notoriety.  This day in 2001 we witnessed an unspeakable atrocity and demonstration of the amount of horror that can be inflicted on innocent beings for the sake of a distorted version of retribution.  Out of all the times I’ve been able to process complex thoughts and make since of life’s challenging twist and turns, I continue to fall short of understanding a reasonable rationale for taking innocent lives for any cause.

Is there a cause that’s so great that it would justify such an egregious, callous, barbaric act?  I can’t imagine there being a “yes” answer coming from the mouth of any sane, rational, compassionate human being.  Some may argue one way or another but I will leave the debating up to the debater’s while I attempt to advocate peace and understanding.

In spite of it all, what was meant for evil actually yielded some good.  This horrific tragedy actually resulted in bringing our great nation together as one.  For a few years people managed to put their indifferences aside and come together in a show of solidarity in our great nation.  But today, hidden selfish agendas and politics as usual has once again started to divide us.

My sincere hope and prayer is that it will not take another tragedy to bring us back together again.  After all, who says that blood shed is necessary to affect change?  I believe there’s a better way and it starts with me.  I will take the advice of the late Gandhi and actually strive to be the change that I want to see in this world of ours.

I still have great faith in the human spirit and the inherent “Good” that’s in us all.  Let’s recall this day together.  Let’s all remember where we were and never forget where we’re going and remind the next generation from where we’ve come.  Let’s all play our respective part in getting us where we need to be, safely.  Embracing this breadcrumb of wisdom will definitely help us all make it GREAT.

O ver the years I’ve learned that the heart and character of great men and women are forged and fashioned in the crucibles and furnaces of struggle, hardships and suffering.

The reality is there’s never a convenient time for adversity, but we must understand that no one can achieve true greatness and significance unless he or she has gone through the “fire.”   Just as gold, silver and other precious metals are forged by extreme heat to remove all impurities and be molded into the desired shape, so too is the process of those who wish to achieve great things among us in this life.

So I say on this Magnificent Monday, be thankful for the good, the bad, the happy and the sad.  Count it all joy and view it as an affirmative sign that you’re moving in the right direction.  For without the struggles and strains in our lives, great things could never be obtained and sustained.

I invite you to embrace this principle and philosophy in the days ahead and let’s continue to overcome and become who we need to be and inspire others to do the same.  This is just another breadcrumb to making it GREAT!  Enjoy.

I invite you to join me today in imagining ourselves winning those mental battles we’ve lost with ourselves in the past.  Let’s develop a healthy thirst for revenge against the negative self-talk that’s gotten the best of us in the not- so-distant past.

Today we solemnly declare that our internal foe won’t be given a second chance to knock us up against the ropes of life.  Our foe won’t have another opportunity to place doubt into our heads about our capabilities and abilities to overcome and become something greater today than we were yesterday.

We understand that the toughest battles we will ever fight are the ones on the battlefields of our own minds.  We clearly realize that our “enemy” outside is secondary to our “inner-me” on the inside.  We also understand all-too-well that our inner-me knows all of our weaknesses and our strengths, so it is indeed a formidable foe.

Nevertheless, in all of our battles both internal and external, we will ultimately win because we’re not afraid to lose.  We will find because we have dared to seek.  And, we choose to live our lives in pursuit of something great and significant for the benefit and service of others today, because we know that tomorrow never comes. Yes my friends, we only have today, this infinite moment in time.

So, we choose today to pursue making our lives matter for much more than just ourselves and our loved ones in our general vicinity.  We will pursue making it GREAT for the world!  So, “PRESS-ON!” I say toward the mark of the high call that has been placed on our lives by our creator and let’s continue to not just make it good but Make it absolutely GREAT!  GREAT DAY!!!

I ’ve had the distinct privilege over the last nine years to work from home, which has afforded me the ability to invest a lot of time actively participating in my kid’s lives.  Needless to say, this has also resulted in me being around a lot of what most people call, “Stay-at-home Moms” or “Soccer Moms”, but I prefer to call them, “Home Engineers”.

Over these activity-filled years I’ve learned to never underestimate the power of a group of dedicated Soccer Moms.  Watching these Mom’s in action rallying around a worthy cause or mutual goal is nothing short of phenomenal.  They have a “Never-say-die” attitude and a Just-get-it-done” mentality.  Getting them to agree may be a challenge at times, but once you’ve got them all nodding their heads in the “Yes” direction for the cause, watch out world, because they will not be denied.  I’m convinced that we could’ve found Osama Bin Laden a lot sooner if we would’ve just assigned the task to a hand full of Soccer Mom’s.  There aren’t many things stronger than the heart of a volunteer and Soccer Moms are the crème-dele-crème.  As a result, I now have a new saying, “Need something done?  Get a Soccer Mom.”

So, if you’re a Work-from-home Mom or Soccer Mom or Stay-at-Home Engineer, please allow me to give you a big, fat “High-Five” for all that you do to make this world go round.  You’re tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed.  You’re coming early and staying late is not in vein.  Those bright eyes all around you are taking notice and are quietly thanking you for your unyielding service to them and this world.

Please take the time to breathe-in this acknowledgement, affirmation and congratulations today and know that you play the most important role of anyone in this world of ours because you are in direct contact with shaping and molding the future of this world.  That future is sitting in that car seat behind you everyday.  Keep doing that thing that you do so well and make it GREAT!
