While talking to a friend this morning about coming expectations of the future, it suddenly occurred to me that it may be a good time to remind others this week that the ultimate act of faith lies in the process of “Acting as if…”

When parents are expecting a baby to be born, they usually can be found preparing their home and life for the eventual arrival.  So too is when we’re casting our vision and goals and dreams, it’s in our best interest to make the proper preparation mentally, physically and spiritually to accommodate the desired outcome.  I am convinced that this is the ultimate sign of faith and belief that an event will occur.

Simply put, the rain will benefit the fields of those who are most prepared to receive it, guaranteed or your money back.  Another way to look at it is when trying to survive on the island, the best show of faith and belief and commitment is to burn the boat.  Your actions or inactions today will no doubt determine and dictate your results tomorrow.

So, my good word for you today and everyday here forward is to demonstrate the strength of your faith and belief by “Acting as if…” and if you commit to do this regularly, eventually you won’t have to “Act as if…”

Let’s all make this Monday so MAGNIFICENT that Sunday gets insanely jealous.  Make it GREAT!

I’m feeling generous today so I figure I’ll lend you my favorite prayer for a short while.  I wrote it just for people like us.  Please be sure to return it in good condition when you’re done:

In times of concern help me to learn and discern.

In times of dismay help me to hear and obey.

In times of struggle and strife help me to get it right.

In times when I feel I’m alone renew my strength to carry on.

In times when it appears others don’t care reassure me that you’ll always be there.

In the times I can’t see my way give me clarity again for just one more day.

For all that I need to be thank you in advance for never giving up on me.

I’m excited to share with you today that I’ve done the numbers on this “life” thing and it all adds up.  My experiences have led me to the following conclusions:

It seems to me that an encouraging word with a smile will get you 10X’s further than a harsh word with a frown.

A hand up is 1000% more effective then a hand out.

An honest compromise will get you the deal 75% of the time.

Decisions made with time and logic are 3X’s more likely to last and satisfy than those made with impulse and emotion.

Seeking 1st to understand increases your chances of being understood by 50%.

87/% of the things we spend time worrying about never happen.

Managing and Supervising with a hand of compassion trumps an iron fist and delivers better results every day of the week and TWICE on Sundays.

Playing the numbers of life to your advantage can increase your chances of living a GREAT life with less stress by a factor of 10.

We only get ONE time through this “life” thing, so let’s do more than make it “good”, let’s try TWICE as hard to  Make it GREAT!    GREAT WEEKEND !!!

At times I’ve found that one of our greatest assets can sometimes be the memory of our last challenge and how we overcame it.  Having a good memory definitely comes in handy under circumstances and situations where we need to recall how resilient we really can be.  In any noble cause, we must resolve to stay the course until success shows up because others are secretly counting on us to win.

I had the awesome privilege to speak to a large group of students at Stockdale Christian School today at a Chapel Event.  I introduced them to my 4G’s of Greatness (Gifts, Goals, Giving & GOD) and advised them to “Don’t Settle”.

I challenged them to find their GIFTS and leverage them to accomplish their GOALS in life and to GIVE of their service to their fellowman in this world.  And the biggest challenge of the day was to maintain an open line of communication with their maker, GOD, for guidance.  I warned them that the 4G’s would present a tough task but it is definitely worth their best efforts.

I invite you to take a close look at the 4G’s in your life today and determine if any changes need to be made.  I’ve found that a self check-up is needed from time-to-time to make sure that we’re still on the right track.

They all took the “Two Finger Peace Pledge” to stay on track until they WIN.  I can guarantee they’ve never had a fired up Chapel Event like that before.  That place was rocking and fired up.  LOOK OUT WORLD!  Their future accomplishments are indeed “To be continued…” but they are definitely off to an awesome start.

We only get one time through this “life” thing, so let’s invest our time in the areas that Make it GREAT!   “DON’T SETTLE!”
