The 1956 song “Que Sorah Sorah” sung by the lovely, legendary Doris Day was very catchy and cute but I must respectfully call “Baloney!” and disagree as it relates to fate being out of our hands and “whatever will be will be.”

I believe that our fate is what we make by our own actions. Yes, our actions or in-actions of today will definitely affect our tomorrow outcomes and results, good or bad. So, we have to get off of our rusty dusty’s and get to work.

Let’s do something BIG for the betterment of the world before our days or no more. Let’s keep striving to make it GREAT!

Over the years I’ve discovered the depths of our Passion is intensified in the boiler-rooms of life’s hardships, strains, struggles and pain.  Overcoming such things have a way of searing a brand in your heart that often times will provoke the spontaneous flow of tears of passion when the opportunity to share your cause to others presents itself.  Few things can add more credibility in the eyes of others than the witnessing of such an event and display of deep seeded passion anchored by struggle.

So I say to you today, welcome the hardships, strains, struggles and pain for its job is to root and ground you to your cause. Let’s do something BIG in this lifetime and Make it GREAT.

The best and most effective way to teach your kids how to set and follow their goals and dreams in life is to set and follow your own goals and dreams in life and let them watch.

As I’ve said before, the most important lessons we’ll ever impart to our kids will be “caught” and not “taught.”  They’ll catch us doing it.  Yes my friends, they may not always remember what we say, but they will always have a mental picture to draw upon from what they saw us doing.  After all, as they say, “Actions speak louder than words.”

So, let’s go show’em how to set those lofty goals and dreams and WIN!  Let’s go make it GREAT!  This is definitely a bread crumb of knowledge that can really make a difference in your kids life.

Many people can be found guilty of questioning their original commitment and resolve when things aren’t going so well.  I’ve found that what truly separates those who are “good” from those who are “GREAT” is the great ones understand the struggle and unbridled adversity is absolutely necessary and it actually adds value to the ultimate goal.

So I invite you to resolve today that on your journey to the other side of the lake of life, when the storms, the wind and the rain comes, you will refuse to be the one who starts to second guess the commitments you made when the waters were calm, the sky was blue and the sun was shining.  No matter the wind and the rain, the commitment stays the same.  Hang in there and keep pushing to make it GREAT.

Myth Busted:  Rumor has it that Great leaders are born.  Well, this myth is definitely BUSTED!  Great leaders aren’t born, they’re developed with a high degree of intentionality.  Yes my friends, being a GREAT leader is a skill that is acquirable and developable.

If this is true, then this means that anyone can be a Great leader if they are willing to invest the time, effort, focus and commitment to make it reality.  Great leaders never “arrive,” they’re always in a constant state of improvement and developing themselves in more ways than one.

Great leaders also don’t just lead in the absence of fear, they lead in spite of it.  They have developed a steadfast focus and understanding that all things great exist only on the other side of fear and adversity, so they embrace the fear and welcome the adversity and persist and persevere anyway.

So, can we call you a “Great leader” today without laughing under our breath?  Can you be counted in or counted out when the times get rough and the going gets tough and you’re saying enough is enough?  Hmmm…

No need to answer out loud, just make me proud and stand out from the crowd while others say it loud, “YOU’RE A LEADER I WANT TO FOLLOW!”

It’s never too late to start leading and making it GREAT.  My book “Bread Crumbs to Making it GREAT” can help you take a daily step in the right direction to becoming that leader that others want to follow and others want to emulate.  Pre-Order your copy today and see why others are finding it hard to put down.
