Ever heard the phrase, “I feel like I have a monkey on my back.”? Well, having a monkey on your back can actually be a good thing in some instances. Especially if that “monkey” is constantly whispering in your ear reminding you of who you are as a child of a Sovereign King and what you’re capable of.

If I was that “monkey” for you on this Hump Day, I would whisper these words to that single woman or man: “You are indeed enough and a companion is just a plus.”

To that married woman or man struggling in a relationship I would say: “Try taking your eyes-of-concern off of your spouse and start looking internally at you and what you can do.”

To that young boy or girl looking for direction in life I would gently say: “Find your passion and purpose and leverage it in the direction of service to the world as you create a life of meaningful contribution.”

And, to that individual who just needs a little motivational kick-in-the-pants today to get them on their way I would say: “Times may be tough but our unshakeable will to overcome is even tougher. So, we stand firm in the face of our adversity and make the bold statement that we will NOT quit, we will NOT resign, will NOT waive the white flag and throw in the towel and abandon our mission in this life for we know that our cause is indeed noble and just and is worthy of our best efforts. So we will stay the course until our inevitable success shows up and we not just win, but we WIN BIGGGGG !!!”

Yes my friends we are all capable of knowing better, seeing better, doing better and being better in some way every day. So, don’t be so quick to get that monkey off of your back, especially if it’s reminding you of how you can Make it GREAT in your space.

Let’s Make it GREAT!!!

TGIM !!! Thank God Its MONDAY !!! I’m having a “WooHoo!” early morning and I wanted to pass on a little love to kick-start your week too. My body is so gullible and easy to fool and once again I’ve tricked it into feeling good. Let me explain:

Overtime in this life I’ve discovered that our emotions and feelings are a direct response of our thoughts. As this is true, so then it is possible to “think” our way into feeling good. Yes that’s right my friends, we can actually trick our body and emotions and feelings by out-thinking them.

A verse out of my favorite book says, “As a man thinketh, so is he.” So we can definitely use this “thinking” thing to our advantage. Don’t believe me, then try it for yourself.

There’s almost always something positive in every situation if we’re willing to look hard enough and be creative. Never give your body and mind permission to have a “bad” day. I found that it really is our choice.

So turn on that mental faucet of yours and let those creative juices flow. Let’s continue to keep looking for ways to make this “good” life GREAT!

Let’s make it a Magnificent Monday!!!

Life is too short to live it building someone else’s dream while your purpose and passion sits on the shelf collecting dust. But don’t quit your day-job just yet.

Go ahead and work fulltime on your job, but be sure to work part-time on your passion and purpose until you’re able to flip-flop the two. And, while on your journey remember that just as Failure is a big part of the equation of Success, so too are “No’s” an essential part of the process to your “Yes”.

Oh, and never ever forget that we only get one time through this “life” thing, so let’s not just try to sneak and creep our way through trying to make it good. Let’s be bold and courageous in our passionate efforts as we attempt to Make it GREAT!

GREAT WEEKEND !!!

Ok, I have a confession to make. The rumors are true. I do have a separate relationship with a few different Cougars in my life. Yep, you heard me right, I did say “Cougars”. But, these are NOT the type of Cougars that you may normally think of.

The Cougars I’m referring to are the older “Mentor-Cougars” in my life who have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are extremely well-versed in the game and the business of “life”.

These “Mentor Cougars” have taken a liking to me and continue to provide me with great information, critiques and advice that have been invaluable to me over the years. I’m very careful not to waste their time with non-sense, foolery and drama and I’m always careful to heed their warnings of things that I may struggle to see from my own perspective.

Yes my relationships with these Cougars are worth their weight in gold and I wouldn’t change them for the world. I also must admit that I’ve become a bit of a Cougar myself. 😉

Creating positive content and value for the next generation is absolutely imperative if we truly want to have a hand in determining our future. So, I invite you to consider being a “Cougar” to some young Lad or Ladette. You may even want to consider finding yourself a Cougar or two also. They can definitely come in handy for those of us who are on a path to Making it GREAT! It works for me.

That’s it!!! Enough is Enough!!! I’m gonna have to call the cops because there’s just too much stealing going on in my neighborhood.

Yep that’s right friends, somebody is about to get arrested LAPD style and drug-off to the pokey kicking and screaming and that somebody is these disrespectful “Joy-Stealers” I’m seeing here and there and everywhere nowadays. It’s about time that these rude, crude, prude dudes and dudettes be held accountable for their flagrant actions and disregard for others around them.

As far as I’m concerned stealing in any form is a crime and joy-stealing-thieves need to do the time or at least be made to pay a hefty fine. So if you’re letting your rough day get in the way of you being merry and gay and getting caught-up in the fray of causing others dismay, you better get ready to pay or be thrown in the pokey for a loooong stay. The Popo has been issued a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) and the “Joy-Stealers” gotta go. 🙂

Keep your joy in whatever you do and don’t let anyone steal it away from you with a harsh comment or inconsiderate action or two. Simply put, don’t let someone’s untimely offense put you on the defense and don’t let someone steal your joy just because they lost theirs. Just smile and move on humming your happy song as you try to get-along.

This breadcrumb of wisdom can definitely keep you on the path to Making it GREAT!

Watch your back “JOY-STEALERS”!!!
