I was chatting with a good friend recently and I was reminded of the fact that many people miss valuable lessons in life because the package it was being delivered in didn’t meet their standards.  They managed to misjudge the message because the person delivering it didn’t have on an Armani suit with a silk tie and shiny shoes and a toothy smile to match.  Hmmm…

I invite you to consider today that the most powerful messages in this “life” thing can oftentimes come from the most unlikely and unusual source.  Knowledge and wisdom have no respect of persons.

So don’t miss your opportunities to catch your messages and Make them GREAT!

I was talking to a good friend of mine about “Potential” and the act of “Service” and as a result I came away from our conversation with a theory or notion that may make something that may have been obscure at one time now a little bit more clear.

I simply asked the question of if we had only one swing at bat would we give it an average effort and swing for the dugout, or would we give it our absolute best shot and swing for the fences?

After pondering this question for a few seconds we both agreed that the obvious answer would be the latter, I mean who wouldn’t want to swing for the fences, right?  Well, I invite you to take out the baseball in this analogy scenario and insert “Life”.

What if I told you that we only get one shot at this “Life” thing, would the answer to the question of what would you do with it be as obvious as the previous scenario?  Well then, surprise, surprise, surprise… We only get one shot at this life and one body to do it with, no repeats or do-overs allowed.

Reaching our highest “potential” and making the absolute best use of our talents and gifts in “service” to others should be the ultimate goal for all of us because of course no one would ever intentionally just aim for the dugout of average and mediocrity right?  Are would they? Hmmm…

So a good question today to jump-start your week with is, “What are you doing with those God-given talents and gifts these days?”  Are you actively involved in your “Highest and best use” or just your “Highest and best excuse”?

I would trust that your answer to this question is one that leads you to Making it GREAT!

AWESOME WEEK FRIENDS!!!

As it relates to the investment of time, true passion knows no bounds.  When operating in the area of one’s true passion long days frequently have a way of flowing into night and long nights seamlessly flow into days and the only thing that appears to fuel it all is that seemingly unquenchable thirst to know more, do more and create more.

Glancing at the clock repeatedly and swearing that the time must have wings because it’s just flying by is a common occurrence, but still our silent chant is, “I can’t stop now, because I’m in the zone.”

What “Zone” is this you may ask?  Well it has nothing to do with a football end zone and it’s definitely not a twilight zone although sometimes it may feel like it.  🙂

No my friends, it’s a system of flow that produces material and content that’s sure to add value to our fellowman and woman.  So often is the case that I experience this feeling and I must admit that it never gets old.

My prayer for you today is that if you have yet to find that area of passion it will not elude you in the short term and you’ll soon be on your way to Making it GREAT!

Got a question for you today?  Do you want to be remembered?  Or maybe an even better question is, “What do you want to be remembered for?

Are you comfortable with an answer of “Not much”?  Are you okay with the notion of “You came, You saw, BUT You didn’t conquer”?  Hmmm…  Give it some serious thought.  Tough questions these are indeed, but the ones who truly care about you most aren’t afraid to ask them.

I invite you to consider that a life spent listlessly drifting without Passion or Purpose is doomed to be recorded into the annals of tragedy of the worst kind because in the grand scheme of things it mounted to a complete waste.  Don’t let that be you.

It’s never too late to find your “it” and Make it GREAT!  We came, We saw, We CONQUERED!!!
