The single most important opinion in our life that will directly affect us negatively or positively is our own personal opinion of ourselves. Additionally, the strongest words we will ever hear in any language that can make or break our spirit and confidence are the words that we actually tell ourselves. And, our biggest advocate and supporter of our personal goals and worthwhile dreams should unequivocally be that person that’s staring back at us in that bathroom mirror every day.

Yes that’s right my friends, the single most important piece of the puzzle of our complex lives is us. The most valuable component in your personal equation of existence is “YOU”. That’s right, all things that are great or not-so-great starts and ends with us.

As this is true, praying and seeking a little guidance and assistance from our Creator to become the best “Me” we can be is a wise idea because since he created us, it’s safe to say that he knows everything about what makes us tick. 🙂

I’d like to encourage you today to be your own biggest fan and be the best “You” you can and don’t be afraid to ask for a little assistance from the “Man” so you can Make it GREAT!

If you have NOT a vision of what you could be, then you severally retard your ability to become who and what you should be.

That’s right friends, if you can’t see the big possible picture for yourself, then it matters NOT the discouraging words from someone else.

It matters NOT what you hear if your own internal vision isn’t clear.

Your biggest foe may not be your external Enemy, it just might be your internal “Inner-me”. 🙂

Simply put, the internal conversations and battles that some of us are having with ourselves may be the catalyst for the cloud in our own vision for what’s possible for us and it’s not until we clear away this internal fog will we accomplish our potential purpose and call.

So I invite you to consider starting on the inside and working your way out as you attempt to Make it GREAT! This breadcrumb of wisdom just might be the shovel to dig your way out of an internal funk.

Let’s make the coming weekend so awesome that last weekend gets insanely jealous. Let’s Make it GREAT!

Last night I had this crazy dream that I was playing the future Hall-of-Famer, Legendary Phenom, Koby “The Black Mamba” Bryant in a game of one-on-one basketball. It was so realistic that I woke up this morning a bit out-of-breath and a little sweaty.

I case you’re wondering, no I didn’t outscore him. In fact, I don’t think I managed to score at all, but my Time Of Possession (TOP) was freakishly much higher than his. He himself even commented about the significant contrast. 🙂

Well if you know anything about me, I just couldn’t let this dream go unaddressed. So, I started thinking about how this dream relates and correlates with life. Then, I grabbed my trusty pen and pad and seized and captured the moment of thought and I’d like to share it with you today.

It seems to me that in life it doesn’t matter how many good ideas you have if you don’t implement them. It doesn’t matter how many talents and gifts you have if you don’t use them for good. And, it matters NOT how loud you speak or what you say you’re going to do if you don’t actually get up off of your rusty-dusty and do it.

Yes that’s right my friends, simply put; Just as it is in a game of basketball, your Time Of Possession (TOP) in the game of life means absolutely nothing unless you use it to score. That’s right, your TOP alone won’t get you to the TOP.

So naturally this begs the question of “What are you doing with your time-of-possession these days?” If this breadcrumb of wisdom fits you today I encourage you to stop dribbling the ball and start shooting to score and Making it GREAT!

Me and Koby will be glad you did. 😉

One of the biggest surprises I’ve encountered as an adult was to realize that adults don’t have it all figured out.

As a kid I always felt like adults had their act together and this ‘life’ thing figured out, but now as an adult myself, I see evidence every day that lends to the contrary. In fact, it even at times appears that many adults have two entirely different faces, one for public eyes and another for the private eyes.

That’s right folks, the face that we see at the churches and in the stores can be quite different than the one we see behind closed doors. The voices we hear over the phones may be totally different than the ones we would hear in the homes.

I continue to have many who grace the comfy chairs of my office who wear the biggest of smiles out in public but are living out lives of quiet desperation and exasperation in their private lives. Their cheeky photos and videos may show captions of happiness and joy, but inside they’re screaming “Oh My and Oh BOY!”

I’m reminded of the fact that many people continue to loosely use the phrase, “I’ll treat you like family” in an attempt to gain the trust of another. But, knowing what I know about how some people treat their family behind closed doors, I would much rather be treated like a customer. 🙂

Although this notion reigns true for so many out there in our general public, the tragedy is that most people who are guilty and are in much need of a change may not even know that it’s a problem or recognize that this shoe fits them. As a result, I would simply like to say, “Don’t let it be YOU.”

Realize and recognize that it’s even more important to treat your family and loved ones with respect, dignity and kindness in the house as it is for you to treat the general public when you’re out.

This breadcrumb of wisdom can definitely lead to a more peaceful palace at home and a gentle spirit when you’re gone. So, let’s keep Making it GREAT!

Ok, here’s a short message for all you bible thumpers:

While sitting in my chair this morning at church I was reminded by my Pastor Kent Pedersen that you can sit there, but for heaven’s sake please don’t stay there. Such a refreshing reminder for us all that naturally got me to thinking about a way to make the message even more memorable. So here goes…

Don’t stay in your seats,
Get out on the streets.

Don’t stay on the benches,
Get down into the trenches.

Our mission is not in our chair,
Our mission is showing others we care.

We can honor our creator’s name,
By doing for others and encouraging them to do the same.

Don’t expect for Sunday church to create any freeway traffic jams.
But as a member of the faithful few, spread hope for your fellow man.

Yep, that about sums it up… Let’s Make it GREAT!
