One of my favorite books tells a story about a woman with a blood issue. The story says that Jesus was in town and he was surrounded by an enormous crowd. In spite of this extremely large crowd, the woman felt that if she could only touch the hem of His garment she would be healed.

Many of you may have heard the story of how she crawled and clawed her way through the crowd ultimately accomplishing her goal and receiving her desired reward of healing. But, I sincerely believe that her healing came NOT because of touching the garment, but her desired reward came because of her faith and unyielding perseverance and belief of what her actions would deliver.

She knew that she would have to subject herself to her own fears and the sneers and jeers of people in the crowd around her but in spite of it all, she was willing to endure.

So my question for you today is, “What exactly are you willing to endure to get your healing”? What level of lose are you willing to subject yourself to in order to get your win? Exactly how many “No’s” are you willing to take to get your “Yes”?

On the journey to making this “life” thing GREAT some might try to persuade you NOT to go, but it’s ok to NOT always do what you’re told.

So, I want to encourage you today to GO!!! Get out there this week and take some more steps toward Making it GREAT! Your reward is waiting for you to fight for it. 🙂

We teach them how to read and how to write and what’s wrong from what’s right. We teach them how to add and subtract and how to listen and how to act, how to run and how to walk and how to share and how to talk. We may also teach them how to play as a team and how to sing, but many of us neglect to teach them this one valuable thing which is teaching them how to DREAM.

Yes that’s right my friends, many of us may teach our youngsters how to laugh and how to play and how to smile and how to pray, but remember that teaching them how to DREAM is also OK. Yes this too is a learned and teachable behavior. In fact, the most effective way for them to actually learn anything is to show them.

Let them see where you are and where you want to be and witness the steps that you’re taking to make your DREAMS reality, for the best lessons in their little lives will be “Caught” and not just “Taught”. They will catch you doing it and remember it well.

So what are they catching you doing lately? Are you continuing to set new goals and dreams and raising the bar on what’s possible for you, or, are you on auto-pilot and all-done? Hmmm… No need to answer out loud, just make us all proud and stand out from the crowd and don’t just say it loud but SHOW THEM HOW TO DREAM so they too can Make it GREAT!

GREAT WEEK!!!

I have a question today that just might reveal an answer that you might not expect. What travels faster than a speeding bullet, is more powerful than any locomotive and is able to leap over the tallest of buildings in a single bound? There’s no reason to look up into the sky for it because it’s definitely not a bird or a plane. So what is this thing you might ask?

Well, some of you may think you’ve got the answer, but I beg to differ. No, it’s not the famed Comic Book Hero, “Man of Steel” Superman. This time it’s the real-life, evil villain called “Negativity”.

This Negativity has been known to travel faster than the speed of “Life” causing irreparable damage to many the world over. This super-villain is reckless, heartless and appears to have a total flagrant disregard for anyone or anything. The perpetuation and proliferation of this “Negativity” thing can break up families, tear-down communities, rip apart churches and even jump-start the Greatest of world wars.

But as with every villain or super-hero, there is always a surefire kryptonite and that kryptonite for the villain of Negativity is quite simply choosing NOT to spread it. Yes that’s right my friends it’s that simple, DON’T participate.

The natural antagonist to Negativity is Positivity. So commit today to plant positive seeds where you encounter Negative weeds. This breadcrumb of wisdom can make a whole world of difference so let’s apply it and Make if GREAT!

As I’ve continued to create both written and spoken content over the past few years I must admit that one of my biggest concerns has now become that my frequent use of the words “Purpose”, “Passion”, “Dreams” and “Actions” in my writings and presentations will cause the hearers and the readers of my content to build up some type of immunity to the words and thereby lessen their impact and importance.

To that end, I feel compelled to issue the following five words as a mild warning to you today, “Don’t let it be you.”

The importance of finding your “Purpose” and taking some “Action” to follow your “Dreams” and live in your “Passion” should never be allowed to become passé or cliché. These breadcrumbs will definitely be pieces that can ultimately lead us all in the direction of making this “good” life GREAT!

Living this “life” thing over the last 43 years has taught me some very special lessons that I’m sure can be super-beneficial to many. As a result, I’ve come up with a list of what I call “Sometimes”.

Sometimes you have to fail your way to success.
Sometimes you have to lose a little bit before you can win again.
Sometimes you have to take a few steps back before you can move forward.
Sometimes you have to cry before you can laugh again.
Sometimes you have to actually feel the hurt and the pain of a thing before you can start the healing agian.
Sometimes you have to come to an abrupt stop before you can go.
And finally, sometimes you have to fall on your knees before you can stand tall as the trees.

Yes my friends, it’s the “Sometimes” in our life that can lead us to making this life more fulfilling.

Always remember that on the bus route of our life’s journey some people will be getting on and some will be getting off. I can’t pretend to know your specific situation or where you’re at on your bus route today, but I do know that the “Sometimes” of this “life” thing applies to us all without exception and the better “You” exist on the other side of the challenges you face.

Simply put, “Sometimes” the toughest decision and the right decision are one in the same. Keep your head up as you make those tough decisions and take one more step today toward Making it GREAT!
